Sanding our assholes with 150 grit.

No Crazy Asian Lady today

Though I did get a lot of reading done. Since it's been almost a year since I last wrote anything for Souls of Glass, I found myself reading some prior chapters to bring myself back up to speed on where I left off, which made me go back further to find the events leading up to those events, and so on until I'd pretty much read the entire book so far, again.

:P

Yeah, so for future reference, if you're a writer, don't take a year off.

Bah! Everyone knows writers are a lazy bunch and sometimes take decades off.

Not typically the successful ones, mind you, but since the unsuccessful ones outnumber the successful ones by a huge ratio, it's safe to say you're perfectly normal.

The whole plot of the book should be set out on one page as a kind of mind map spider's web graph kind of thing, with arrows to show connections between events and relationships between actors. If you actually have to read the words already written to recover this information, your book will suffer from incoherence and plot holes.

Ian -

I have it mapped out to a degree, but I don't have every minute detail as readily available in the notes (though it's there) as I do in the novel itself.

This is a large reason why OneNote is going to be so helpful. I didn't want to devote all my writing time to setting up OneNote today, though.

I have a very large amount of plot mapping, notes, and so on, in a Wiki on my laptop right now. The Wiki has been nice but isn't quite organized the way I'd like it to be.

That reminds me, how's the video game coming along?

I've got the GUI all mapped out and I'm starting to work on server side components that provide the data for the controls. :)

Did you get the storage problems worked out? I seem to recall your last problem was wanting to save a GIF for every single atom in the universe.

I'm still working on how to handle planet terrains. I have a few good ideas that I need to implement part way to decide which will be most efficient.

Haven't been to the Crazy Asian Lady Borders in a couple of weeks. There's a Borders closer to my house so sometimes I go there instead.

Hopefully someday I'll get to witness Mark duking it out with the CAL over an empty table ...
