Sick of morons

"I wish JOS Idiot-B-Gone removed topics as well as posts." - Colm O'Connor

"I really so wish you'd just find yourself talking to yourself." - Aaron F Stanton

I know some of you remain mildly bemused by morons-who-shall-remain-nameless on these forums, but I just find them irritating. As such, I've once again updated Damien Katz's Idiot-B-Gone Greasemonkey script so that it will remove idiots' entire topics from the main index. Hopefully that will cut down on my self-destructive tendency to open moronic threads. (Seriously, it's like looking at a car accident... I just can't resist).

Maybe if we can get enough critical mass we can grant Aaron's wish.

Thanks for the option - but I think I'll decline. If I wasn't prepared to listen to people expressing views I find objectionable I wouldn't bother coming here.

Works brilliantly. Thank you!

FYI on my slow machine I can see a little delay (so the user experience is not quite seamless): I can see the 'idiotic' thread title when the page which lists all topics is first displayed, and it's then removed a fraction of a second later.

Christopher: the idiot removal is done as part of the page's onload function, which doesn't run until the page is fully loaded. So firefox may be rendering the page progressively while it's downloading, during which time you'll still see idiots. So sorry.

Excellent, I'm using it now. I really like what you've done, and now I want to add more tweaks on top of your tweaks. Mmmmm, open-source goodness.

It's no problem, Pierce. Thank you for this.

Speaking of car accidents - I removed the grey text proclaiming "this idiot has been removed" so you don't even see the post.

When I started to use this script on Tursday, there was a "Bottom of page" link displayed near the top-right of the page, and a place at the bottom of the page to edit the list of 'morons'. These are no longer displayed (though individual posts and entire topics are still being hidden). What do I do to see/edit the list of 'morons'?

OK, the "Bottom of page" link (and the link at the bottom of the page that you can click in order to edit the list) is *not* displayed, when I *first* go to a new JoS page by clicking on a URL ... but it *is* displayed after I press F5 to *refresh* the currently-displayed JoS page.
