Do we see a problem yet, "Right wingers"? Eh?http://news.yahoo.com/s/thenation/20050825/cm_thenation/416815;_ylt=AhzQzKkmk_My1TKSkTM38oX9wxIF;_ylu=X3oDMTBiMW04NW9mBHNlYwMlJVRPUCUl

By the way, who's shocked that No Child Left Behind had ulterior motives? Anyone? Bueller? They've got all excited with their new toy and can't see you mate;-)
hehe
could be a fun wee app. "automatically removes your childs names from the government database...saves your children from the army."
I bet it would sell. you could market it as a kind of shareware in reverse....if you use it, then unless you pay within 30 days your childs name is *re* submitted. Noticed the last portion of your first link (The Nation) described their own mechanism for readers to blank out unwanted posts.
The reason cited was jackhammered posts citing Ann Coulter. Fortunately at ?off we are all such a much more urbane, polite and considerate population of nerdos ... BTW Doonesbury had Walden out-recruiting the Army the last strip I saw. Straws in the wind? Great big hay bales. "No Child Left Behind had ulterior motives?"
Nah - I followed the legislative history of NCLB. The military recruitment thing was a rider added when schools started banning recruiters from campus. Philo Once again, we arrive at the inescapable conclusion that Riders should be illegal.
How is this significantly different from the draft?
Well see, the DRAFT is when you compel legal adults to participate in military service.
This NEW system is when you intimidate CHILDREN into joining the military. It's subtle, but it's different. Did you see the picture of Shrub speaking to the boyscouts a few weeks back? There were 3 large Hot Air balloons on the scene, with logo's for the Army, Navy and Marines.
Let me see if I can find a link to it... muppet, as the best parent who ever lived, I'm sure you can teach your smartest daughter who ever lived how to say no.
Well, where else are the going to learn to read? The public schools don't seem to be able to do that at this point.
