Sanding our assholes with 150 grit. Slowly. Lovingly.

Wonderful Lazy New Years...

I'm thankful for the time off. This year, no parties -- just hang out with the wife and kid and wait for a 3-hour delayed recording of the ball dropping.

Last night was a late night (see http://discuss.joelonsoftware.com/default.asp?off.9.280216.21 ). On the way back from picking up the wife, I stopped a road check. I guess I'm looking just bloodshot and tired enough to be drunk because I got the breathilizer (first time ever).

Cop: "Have you had any drinks?"
Me: "Nope"
Cop: "So you're going to blow a zero?"
Me: "Yup, it's going to be great!"

I didn't really mean to be cheeky, but I was too tired and the words were unstoppable. I blew a zero and was off on my way. Fun stuff.

Anyway, my kid now wants to go and open more Christmas presents (yes, she still has unopenned Christmas presents from other relatives!)

Ah, the unending Christmas.

First Her family, then My family, then remote mail packages from relatives too far away to visit. Then discovering presents that you already opened, but forgot about in the joy of the second Christmas.

Darn, and I forgot to take down the tree!

Well, it all ends pretty soon. This one might be a little longer prolonged, because Monday is a Federal Holiday in the States.
