So on the Doctor Who DVDs...
...they have left the next episode previews in place that were shown before the end credits. That's kind of annoying because it is obviously a spoiler for the next episode. When they did the DVD transfer, I think they should have edited those out.
Is it because purists want to see exactly what was aired, or is it just lazyness?

Didn't the original Doctor Whos have a little preview half way through the credits. This was in the days of 2-3 part episodes and therefore made much more sense.
Or am I thinkning of Cross Roads?

This season has that.... But I won't say any more.

They did a similar thing with the "24" DVDs -- they left the pre/post commercial "clock for 10 seconds, fade to black/fade back in, clock for 10 seconds" segments in which somehow ruined the continuity. Had they chopped them out (which the BBC made a reasonable stab at doing when they aired it -- they only showed the last bit of clock) it would have lessened the "this 24 hour sequence is actually only 16 hours long" feeling...
HA HA HA, yeah I always thought it was funny that each DVD hour would only be 40 minutes. But then, the couple of times I caught it, I remember thinking that time seemed to stop during the commercians.
