10 Q, Mat. Am at Radio Shack and need to make a quick purchase decision. Can it play just MP3's?

it can't play DIVX

audio: it can play regular MP3s, AACs, WAVs, and AIFF files.

video: it can play certain sizes of MPEG-4 and H.264

Yes. The ipod shuffle cannot play video. Or DVDs.

Simple but obvious advice: Don't make quick purchase decisions while standing in a shop. If you are not sure what is best, go away and research it, then return another time.
