Google
Error

  We're sorry...

... but we can't process your request right now. A computer virus or spyware application is sending us automated requests, and it appears that your computer or network has been infected.

We'll restore your access as quickly as possible, so try again soon. In the meantime, you might want to run a virus checker or spyware remover to make sure that your computer is free of viruses and other spurious software.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope we'll see you again on Google.

yep.

But if you shrink the enquiry to

http://www.google.com/search?q=off+topic+site:discuss.joelonsoftware.com&hl=en&hs=AZq&lr=&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official

it's the start=100 that triggers it.

but why???

I don't know. If you click on the 10 it works. If you click on any higher numbers after that you get the error message.

Hmm...the last time I heard about that error was when Mat Hall was complaining about it a month or so ago.

Ignore it and it'll go away, or at least it did for me, although I was only getting it if I searched from the main Google page. The FF toolbar and the Google desktop search worked fine...
