Sanding our assholes with 150 grit.

How many people hate you?

My question is as you move through life from situation to situation and job to job, how many people have you built up who you think really hate you? How many who you think may not hate you but dislike you enough that if you had to go back to that old situation it would be really really awkward?

What a silly thing to ponder on. Who cares?

If you have good, sturdy friendships, a solid home life, and feel generally good about the way you conduct yourself, who the hell cares how many bitter, no-personality losers resent or hate you?

Now, if you're going through life as a miserable futz who's only enjoyment is to tear others down, THEN maybe you might want to keep score...

So you don't think I should take into account how others react to me as I analyze my behavior and consider modifying it? I agree a lot of people are going to hate you even if you are not doing anything terribly wrong. Still I have to think there is some number, or percentage, that one should consider a wake-up call that maybe he doesn't know how to act in society. I'm trying to figure out what that number is.

It's not directed at you, Muppet.

I never thought it was, and my reply wasn't in that vein.

Still, I think that if there are a disproportionate number of people that hate you, it's just as likely that you live in a crummy community and associate with crummy people as it is that you're doing something particularly wrong.

What I mean is, the number of people who hate you is a poor barometer for.. well.. anything. The best bet is to be honest with yourself about how clean of conscience you feel.

I feel pretty clean of conscience, but don't most people? Take another example. Onemight think you are extremely attractive and yet fail to attract women fairly consistently. Isn't the true measure in the results, rather than, say, a static analysis of one's physical traits while looking in a mirror?

I agree though, with respect to people disliking you, it could well be that you are in situations in which youu interact with people who are just destined to dislike you.

It isn't even that I think I have a high percentage going. It's that a company is recruiting me and in discussing who they are pursuing as customers, two names came up that it occurred to me might have a problem dealing with me. I guess it could be an odd statistical grouping. It just got me thinking.

Thus spake mean spirited little muppet : "Now, if you're going through life as a miserable futz who's only enjoyment is to tear others down, THEN maybe you might want to keep score..."

Oh, the irony in these words spilling from muppet's pie-hole.

ROFLMAO!

I don't know how many, exactly. Hopefully not too many people hate me, but there is one important guy who hates my guts: my boss. When I first got to this company, my boss was just a programmer - and a bad one at that. His code was so bad that I made a fuss about it. Then, lo and behold, several years later he becomes the manager of some crappy team because he's been here decades longer than anyone else. My project gets offshored, and onto whose crappy team did I get assigned? Yep... his. I learned the hard way that what goes around comes around.

Probably about 20 people hate me personally, 10 of whom actively harbor fantasies of wanting to kill me. I guess that's about normal I'd expect.

Of people who hate me in general without knowing me, i am told it is more than 1 billion.

I have many who hate me, but I look at it like this. I would rather be hated than ignored.

I just had the experience of being harrassed with scorching flaming email days after I banned someone from a message board. I finally threatened police action to get them to back off.

Oh... I'd say that several family members hate me. And a few people in business that I've crossed paths with who either lied to me or abused the relationship and I called them on it. Probably 20 or so, all told, through the years.

I think that if you have any character at all (good or bad) it's inevitable that someone will despise you for taking a stand for yourself or for a principle.

The reason that most people hate me is because I have fucked their wives - and that's understandable.
