Give ne back my hat!

Maybe there's hope?

The drama of a constitutional coup d'état would be fun to watch...

We keep throwing one set of bums out so the other set of bums can make things worse.  Then when we're not happy we repeat the process.

Democracy in action!

Maybe we need a multi-party system?

In effect we do, with the primaries functioning as a filtering process. But we've never had a multi-party system, it's not likely to ever come about. In the past, third parties either disappear or get absorbed.

The best party reform idea I heard was from California.  In the primary, you can vote for anyone, no matter what your registration.  The top two candidates face off in the general election, even if they're from the same party.

I'm not sure if it passed.

Should we vote Democrat? Or Republican?

What you need is a decent, modern electoral system along the lines of Holland or Australia.

Democrats are their own opposition party.

So vote Democrat -- herding cats is WAY better than being pushed by lemmings.

It's good to rotate the bums, ideally every election cycle.

Leaving one set in too long greatly increases the degree of cronyism and corruption.
