What's the future of Indian outsourcing?
What's going to happen to businesses that are smaller than TCS, Infosys and WIPRO but do exactly what these large players do -- send underqualified, incompetent IT workers to the US?
Is there anything new that they haven't been doing for the past 20 years?
If someone is already here on an H1B, can they just be extended and not have to go through the auction?
If so - I see a bidding war where the smaller companies try and hire H1Bs away from Wipro, etc. because they can't win the auctions.

Smaller companies need someone who actually knows what they're doing. The body shops specialize in low-cost barely-competent labor, hoping to make it up in numbers.
If you're already here on an H1-b visa, a transfer does not count against the cap, but (depending on where you are in the process) you lose your place in the greencard waiting list.

Thats why they'll be looking for someone from a big firm. Seatwarmers tend to stick were they can blend in and be comfortable. Someone more competent is going to be looking for the next big thing that is somewhere else.
