They don't even serve pork lunch in Porky the movie!

Mup gets is wish against my family.

My brother's wife suffers from MS. A week ago she had a series of seizures, which left her in a  comma for a few days. She was unable to breathe after the seizure for a while. Now she is paralyzed on her right side from brain damage due to lack of oxygen.

She was "released" from the hospital today. She is not doing well.

His health insurance company will not pay for a critical care rehab facility that she needs. They will only pay for a low care nursing home.

My brother faces a tough choice. He can put is wife into the nursing home and watch her die quickly, or he could try to pay for the critical care facility himself.

He cannot afford the high cost of the health care his wife needs. He doesn't know how this is going to play out.  I think I do.

God, I thought I had problems! :(

Man. No words.

Third option.  He could also sue the insurer to demand they pay for her rehab.  Probably not affordable either.

Sorry to hear about this that is terrible.

FWIW, my understanding is mup only hates you, and not your family.

He put her into the critical care rehab.  He is going to submit an appeal to the insurance company for coverage.

As a side note,my brother and I work for the same company.

As a second side note, my wife went back in the hospital last night for severe abdominal pain again. CT scan indicated another ileus (asleep intestines). Plus she had a reaction to the intravenous contrast solution.  I hope mup doesn't get his wish more on target.

I don't think mup hates me or my family.

He thinks I'm an arrogant condescending priveledged prick, and he might be right.  But I've worked hard for everything I've got.

I got no support from my family to pay for school. I was forced into laboring as a mechanic's apprentice from the first grade. My older brother beat me a couple of times to force me to be work.

I have compassion for people who cannot or should not work.  I have no simpathy for people who won't work. I detest people who have jobs but screw around instead of working.

Ouch. It sucks when people you love fall seriously ill.

I can't help you fighting the insurance company daemons, but can offer one piece of advice: don't let the stress get to you. You will be of no use to your wife or your brother's family if you end up with clinical depression.

Been there, got the scars.

Thanks. I'm not holding it inside. I'm taking it out on my co-workers whom I think deserve it. Then I worry about what I've done.

Yesterday afternoon when I was home sleeping there was a couple of production incidents, and later I couldn't muster any concern at all. I went in to work and pretended to care.

The guys at work are handling me pretty good--better than I deserve.

You don't sound 100% well, but one could hardly expect you to.

Do you have any friends or other family to talk to? Would it be possible for you and your wife to go on some nice short trip to get a break (probably not...)?

We're headed to Lake Powell the first of June. If she is up to it.

Lake Powell is our happy place.

I was there two weeks ago to work on the houseboat. My son watched over my wife.

P.S. Anyone who posts here isn't normal.  I guess you meant I didn't seem to be what is normal for me.

Sorry to hear that Legion. I hope your family finds a solution.

How's the water level on Lake Powell these days?

"I'm taking it out on my co-workers whom I think deserve it."

LOL. You could always get a cute dog to come home and kick until he's so depressed he just hides under the couch.

Working hard is not good enough.  You're supposed to grovel for forgiveness that you were born with some advantage and think of creative, self-sacrificing ways of atoning for your sin.

How dare you spend your limited resources on the comfort and happiness of yourself and your loved ones.  You fucking pig.

Until you're giving everything you have, for complete strangers, you're scum.

Privileged bastard.

Anyway, back to powerdiscing Ancient Aliens.

Plus it is wrong for me to have ancestors who survived the great plague of the 1300s.

Lake Powell water level has been held fairly consistently for the past 5 years. The government is doing this at the expense of the level in Lake Mead.  Lake Mead is really down.

There is twice normal inflows of water this year into Lake Powell. It has been a great year to restock water in the watershed.  The government has announced that they are going to discharge more than normal amounts of that water to Lake Mead.

The biggest change in Lake Powell in recent years is the infestation of Qaagga Mussels. Those little buggers took control of the Bullfrog area this winter.

A great website for water levels at Lake Powell:

Your petty and shallow bitterness doesn't move me. I didn't wish ill on your family. I told you your wife was lucky to afford care and that you should shut the fuck up about the underpaid, understaffed nurses.

Almost everyone works hard. Working hard is not unique.

Working hard also doesn't get everyone medical care. Not even close in the US.

Fuck you.

Legion, buddy, I have shit just like this in my own life but I don't post about it on social media because of reasons. Perhaps you can imagine what the reasons are.

I appreciate knowing what's up in your life but a public life is pretty crap TBH. Cultivate and appreciate your true friends.

"Cultivate and appreciate your true friends."

And, just to avoid any misunderstanding, you won't find them here. Only semi-interested, blased bystanders making off-cuff remarks.

In the end, everyone suffers alone, don't they?
