Let's say I live in Sunnyville. I have started to notice when browsing that various ads on random web pages say things like "Find XYZ in Sunnyville". Now, how is that happening?

You know what's even freakier? Getting an email from a guy on hotmail with the ad:

on the bottom. I guess they knew the IP address of who he was replying to? Then again, why would I need to stay in a NYC hotel?
*sigh* how can we ever hope to fight spam when our legitimate email has ads in it.
