Anything else just isn't Enterprise enough.

Do you tell your co-workers where you go on vacation?

Or what you do?

Some people (and books) suggest not to discuss anything personal with co-workers.  Others are more of an open book.

I tell my co-workers lots of stuff -- it's a rather fun environment here.

Depends, I've had some co-workers come back from a trip overseas or something and they will have pictures.  But usually if I am on PTO all they know is I'm on PTO from X day to Y day, where I am is irrelevant and not their business, all they need to know is I'm not available.

At my old workplace it was quiet and we had to say something other people didn't know about ourselves. They found out that I have had a vasectomy, I found out that a female coworker went to the US and was 'forced' to marry a gay man by his mother.

So, yes to your questions.

I tell them where I am going.  Why should it be a secret?

Sometimes I invite them to come along. Sometimes they do.  Fun!

Obviously, it depends on the culture of the workplace and also who you sit next to.
