Hey greenies, what do you think about this comment?
We already have free carbon capture. It's called "plants," and thanks to Global Greening there are more of them than ever in recent geological times. CO2 levels will probably peak between 2060-2070, and if the U.N. report is correct we will not see any more than another 1/2C temperature rise (and even that is still being debated, but I will presume for discussion the report is fundamentally correct). Once we are carbon neutral, CO2 will naturally begin to decline due to the extra foliage which resulted from the extra CO2, gradually bringing CO2 levels back to historic norms.
All of this will happen because the prices for alternative power sources are declining exponentially, and once cheaper than oil and gas will begin rapidly to replace them.

We need a tree in every corner! We also need plants on the roof of every building. Let treedom ring!

I think the South American rain-forest is being decimated as we speak. There USED to be a lot of carbon-capture there, that's being clear-cut.
Probably that's an insignificant amount, compared to all the algae in all the oceans of the world.

I'm not seeing a lot of foliage appearing in the Sahara.

Yes, but the Sahara is grand-fathered in.

We're going to see a further rise of 2C.
If we're VERY lucky it might go back down again.
In the meantime, most people are fucked.

Oh, no, not MOST people. MOST people live more than ten feet above current sea-level.
People in Florida, and low-lying areas of the East and West coast, well yes, they're fucked. But most of them are Democrats, so why should we slow business down for a bunch of Democrats?

Global warming is going to wipe out most food production.
The people who don't drown will starve.
