My strategy for owning car.
I buy it new and keep it for 100K at least. When the car is requiring more money fixing, I buy a new one. I don't like throwing money into repairing old car.
If you buy brand new, you're throwing away 10% - 20% the moment you drive it away.
I get rid of a car when the cost to repair it is greater than its value. This means selling it to a wrecker or whoever is desperate enough to need a cheap car that has lots of faults.
Grumpy Old Git: "If you buy brand new, you're throwing away 10% - 20% the moment you drive it away."
Why do people keep making this dumb comment?
If you are selling it right after you bought it, you are stupid (or desperate).
