> The office of New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman laid groundwork to revoke the charitable status of the conservative group Project Veritas last week, claiming it had misled the state about its president James O’Keefe’s past criminal conviction.
Eric Schneiderman is a liar who should be impeached.
Veritas is registered as a non-profit, not a charity. Eric Schneiderman is a liar.
For example, despite claiming on its uniform registration statement that none of its officers had been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony, O’Keefe pleaded guilty in 2010 to misdemeanor charges in Louisiana for entering U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu’s office under false pretenses.
Is this just a routine audit of filings or did he AG single out project Veritas because of their attempt to trick the wapo reporter?
I don't think the AG should be looking to punish a citizen for a legal act that he disagrees with.
Given we don't live in Legion's fantasy world where all illegal acts are caught and punished, it's not right that people who disagree with the AG, but broke no law, get special bad treatment.
He filled out the form incorrectly. A violation of section 172-d(1) of new york's executive law which prohibits making any material statement which is untrue in an application for registration.

Intentionally lied to beat tax law.
In many legal situations...
The technicality of breaking the law determines if you are guilty or not.
The intent affects the resulting penalty/sentence.
