What's really amazing is that apparently there's enough food for them to hang around.

I used to see fisherman off the piers in Jersey City and couldn't believe that they were catching fish to actually eat, but they were.

Maybe the oysters will come back?

The remakes were fiction!  The original series timeline is the one true Star Trek!

A good sign that NYC finally got the water clean enough to where the wildlife doesn't avoid it.

The town isn't a total shithole any more.

And the warm water now gets far enough north that the whales can follow the fish.

???

For food, the whales go North to the cold water that is much richer in fish. They go South for their babies that cannot endure the cold just after birth yet.

Cold water has more planktons which in turn attract more fishes to come. Hence, the whales are going where the dinner parties are.

No, this is not global warming. This is much cleaner water and many more fish for the whales to eat.
