Yall are a bunch of wankers!

Chevy commercials

Don't advertisers understand overdoing it?

I am so tired of Chevrolet commercials.

Wow. So you were doing something and saw commercials? Is this part of some sort of historical reenactment club where you dress up and pretend you're from the 20th century? Cool. Next you'll be telling us about your telephone that you have to hand crank to ring up the operator and be patched through to Klondike Four Seven.

It is called, "Watching the Olympics, Live".  (With the "Live" as defined by NBC.

Live sports is about the only live thing I'll watch. (And I don't watch much of them.)

I can watch the Olympics entirely without commercials on Dutch, British and German television, or with commercials on Eurosport, but even there the commercial blocks are about 15 minutes apart.

You know that without the commercial advertisements there wouldn't be any Olympics. Or any of the corruption that always accompanies pro sporting events?

Without commercial advertising people would just be lost and sad all the time.

> You know that without the commercial advertisements there wouldn't be any Olympics.

Nonsense.

There would be Olympics, of course, just less expensive.

Once they were invented, there was no going back.

Nationalism is more of a driving force for the Olympics than commercialism.

"Commercialism" is pretty huge in America.

And America has LOTS of disposable dollars for this stuff.

Maybe the Olympics would become marginalized without TV commercials in the USA, but not in the rest of the world.

The Olympics would function perfectly fine without American commercial involvement.

I remember the big leap in commercial corruption of the games with the 1984 Los Angeles games. That was kind of a shock for the rest of the world.

The American TV coverage of the olympics is so unbelievably shitty it's not worth even trying to watch it. And it's always been this way.

How you watch it is raw feeds with a real full size satellite dish.

The American stuff not only has the commercials, it has absolutely insufferable commentary and they will do stupid stuff like show some cloying long documentary on some precious american gymnast hopeful instead of covering actual events that are playing at the same time, because those events are deemed either not popular in the US, or there's no chance an american can win a medal.

If an american can't win a medal, they ain't gonna show it!
