All mics and cams built into pcs should be fitted with physical switches.

That is an impressive demo, I might have a go at replicating it myself, I wonder how he discovered it in the first place and what keywords he tried in previous experiments.

Unless Google was trolling him. Otherwise they should cease.

It would be hilarious if they were trolling, is what I meant. But I can't see it.

What happens if you put your new phone in airplane mode, never put a SIM card in it, never connect it to wifi, and basically never allow it to do anything?

Will it still somehow watch and track every move you make, and then somehow secretly upload all that to Google servers anyway?

Impressive, but he clicked on a dog toy ad, then acted surprised when he opened even more pages and found dog toy ads.

Also, I didn't see an open chrome browser when he was saying "dog toys".  Is the Microsoft operating system colluding with Google?

Pure speculation here but it is possible that the chrome installer also installed a service that listens to the microphone.

Impossible to know, but it's possible he had the browser minimised.

I think the video was faked. Has anyone duplicated his experiment?

Perhaps someone on another computer in the house was logged in with his account and as the guy said "Dog toys". The other person then searched for dog toy ads, and clicked on them.
