Y'all are a bunch of wankers!

It has been 26 years since I got my degree in College. I can't

recognize the culture in universities and colleges any more. They have gone left in politics completely.

Someone came up with this theory. Smart college students want to go out into industry to make money. The lazy types hang back and become college professors because that is what they like to do: a little of nothing. They become college professors and now indoctrinate the next generations of college students to be SJW.

Then I remembered Obama really never have a real job until he ran for President. He was a very left wing President and in the same camp like Carter.

While on average they’ve moved left, I’m not sure stem has, the students are too busy working to care much.

I think it's much more likely that in those 26 years, you've moved Right.  A Lot.

26 years ago was 1991.  Since then, we've had Bush-I and Supply-Side economics and "Read-My-Lips", followed by Clinton and the lunatic Newt Gingrich congress, followed by Bush-II and Dick Cheney and the Afgan and Iraq wars.  Then Obama and the lunatic Boehner congress.

Now, in 1991, they weren't as radically Left as they were in, say, 1968 with the Viet-Nam war and civil rights bills.  And perhaps Reagan made "Compassionate Conservatism" seem like a good idea, briefly.  But the experience since then has been that Right-wing conservatives fuck up the economy, blow up the deficit, attack social programs, increase military spending, start wars, and fuck up the economy.

Meanwhile, the Right has moved even further Right.  Moderation is considered Left-Wing these days.  So it's not the Left that's moved, it's the Right that's become extreme.

If you're in the ice-flow moving Right, I can see how the motionless middle looks like it's moving Left.  But it's not.  Really.

Hubble is gaslighting. Just plain evil.

Really?  I'm not the one doing personal attacks.

I recently saw "Gaslight", and mis-characterizing other people's positions is EXACTLY what "gaslighting" was.

Just like you're trying to do to me.  Fascinating.

The Left have moved so far they’re basically Marxists now.

Both sides have gotten more extreme and the middle is almost empty.

Most likely true. Note: This happened to me.

I agree that they have.

> The lazy types hang back and become college professors...

I do not agree with this statement. Anyway, imo the majority of college students (i.e. at least since the 1970s) have always leaned more toward the political left.

Does this make you as one-eyed as him?

Hubble said unis have moved to the right, offering some support but canvassing no counter-arguments.

I raised one.

Hubble ignored it.

So it's safe to say that what you said is wrong.

That’s not what he said

He said the OP moved right

Yes but he spent the entire post talking about "them" not the OP.

But on closer reading, "them" was not unis, so I was wrong on that point.
