Bill Gates forms secret society of billionaires

... to come up with a strategy to "eliminate" the earth of most of its useless human population.

It hasn't been established how they will determine who will be killed, but presumably it will be based on wealth in such a way that poor minorities are the first up.

This is nothing new.  These stories get recycled and every rich person gets labeled a member sooner or later.

You can fit all the people in the world standing up without touching one another, 6.5 bil, in one half the area of the city of Jacksonville, Florida. We produce enough food for 6 times the present pop. and can produce enough for over 200 bil.

True we do produce more food than we could ever consume.  That said it's transportation and dictators that get in the way of the food reaching the poor.

Lets kill off the dictators and the poor?  :-P

Yes and there is plenty of water in the sea. So I guess hunger AND thirst are covered now.

Moron.

It's not about how much food we can (theoretically) produce but about how many people the world can actually feed and provide a decent living for.
The bio industry illustrates how you can sustain life in the most efficient manner but that does not make it into an example of how we could/should organize out own society in order to allow >10bn people to live on this planet.

Locutus,

I pointed out that transportation and dictators are an issue in getting food to people that need it.

Dog Breath == Horowitz?  Of course, the article has nothing to do with billionaires planning how to kill off excess population.  It's about how they want to improve health care and living conditions so that poor people don't pop out so many kids.

The only way that one could even come close to feeding that many people is if no one is allowed to eat meat - everyone must become a vegetarian at gunpoint.

When the oil runs out, we're going to go back to 1900 levels of agricultural production. Which means that at most 1.5 Billion people can be fed. That means that the entire surplus population (everyone over 1.5B) must die.

"That means that the entire surplus population (everyone over 1.5B) must die."

Ludicrous. All that need to happen is for americans to forgo their daily burgers and steaks.

People in 1900 ate a lot less meat than they do today.
