Y'all are a bunch of wankers!

Whoa whoa whoa... you're supposed to dilute some bottles of Listerine?

No wonder I always thought that seemed like the strongest stuff you could get.

I've never seen a bottle of Listerine that said it should be diluted.

Stephen Jones knows where they keep it.

From the thread about 50/50 antifreeze, which I expected to be way more interesting... You could go so many better directions with that. But anyway....

"Same happens with Listerine. A bottle of ready diluted Listerine costs $2. A bottle of pure Listerine you need to dilute with four times the quantity of water costs $2.10."  Stephen Jones

Probably out in the fucking boonies where SJ lives, they have concentrated Listerine to avoid cargo charges.

Years ago I used to see a lot of concentrated Listerine in stores, but today I rarely do.

Also regular use of Listerine is just as likely to cause mouth cancer as if you were a heavy drinker.  Your rarely keep each drink in your mouth for 30 seconds so they amount of alcohol to tissue contact is 10 or 20 times a shot.

I solve that problem by not using it for 30 seconds.

Funny story about Listerine. A guy who never had tasted Listerine was assigned to test whether the samples were OK.

The first time he puts it in his mouth, he spits it right out. Of course, the crew assured that that's how it normally tastes.

I dig their little gelatin strips, but the mouth wash thing is nasty.

They probably don't sell the concentrate in the US because some Americans are too stupid to do ratios.

But ARE smart enough to call 1-800-we-sue-4you

I've only ever bought Listerine in Sri Lanka (in Saudi alcohol is forbidden), and yes most bottles tell you to dilute it with water. There is also I found last month another package which doesn't need diluting.

It could have something to do with how price conscious the market is, or it could be that there are so many alcoholics in the US that they preferred not to sell it neat.
