CC: "OK, so when she was held in an insane asylum, another patient there who was committed claimed that she told him she confessed. Later, he recanted and said it was one of many stories he makes up.
That's very different from YOUR version of the story, for which I am now going to request from you a citation."

There is nothing wrong with my version of the story, apart from the fact that is was very short.
From the Wikipedia article:
Lucia de Berk's diary also played a role in her conviction. On the day of death of one of her patients (an elderly lady in a terminal stage of cancer) she wrote that she had 'given in to her compulsion'. She wrote on other occasions that she had a 'very great secret' and that she was concerned about 'her tendency to give in to her compulsion'. De Berk has stated that these were references to her passion for reading tarot cards, which she explains she did secretly because she did not believe it appropriate to the clinical setting of a hospital. However, the court decided they were evidence that she had euthanised the patients. According to the court, the reading of cards does not accord with a 'compulsion' nor with 'perhaps an expression of fatigue', as she described it at the time. De Berk's daughter Fabiënne explained in an interview on the television program Pauw & Witteman that some of her mother's notes in the diaries are 'pure fiction' which she intended to use in writing a thriller.

"In her diary she had written to have committed the "murders" on the patients."
Hm, murders is even in quotes.
She says she plays with tarot cards.

Can she tell me my future?

Can't tell her own. Obviously not so good at it.

Not _even_ in quotes but in quotes as in "so called".
The reference to Tarot cards was not in the diary, that was an explanation afterwards by Lucia de B. (as she was always called in the news).
Anyway, I wasn't trying to defend the court, I was indicating an important - but very probably false - clue that the police was acting on.
And I admit that I worded it a bit too strong.
She didn't write about murders, but the diary was certainly suspicious.
But suspicion alone is never enough.
Well, at least it has been corrected in the end.
There are a number of other cases corrected as well recently, and there has been a lot of public critisism on the criminal Justice system this year.
