I received my property tax evaluation for next year from the county today. They think my house is worth $10K less this year, and bumped the taxes up $120 per year. I'm now at $1,900 for a home valued at $250K.
This isn't my home. I'm renting it from the government, now at $160 per month.

Huh, no shit. Here's a first for the internet: I was wrong.
End users are silly, stupid dumbasses and twats. Most of them will need this service because almost all of them are incapable of making a simple value based decision.

You should be so lucky that your property tax is so low. I've been paying over three times that, though it's dropped a little with the post-bubble collapse in valuations.

Our assessment was increased from 103K to 175K a few months before the subprime bubble burst and hasn't been revised since. Our annual property tax on the house is 5K.
