Sanding our assholes with 150 grit. Slowly. Lovingly.

I'm being taken advantage of at work and should be looking....

but I'm too burnt out/lazy and live in a non-tech area so I'd have to move.  The last thing I want to do after work is send out resumes and cover letters.

I decided to go to night school instead.

Sounds like your location/life/etc is more important than work/tech/geekdom.  So you may want to get into another line of work.

And there is nothing wrong with that.  The industry has really changed over the years.  It is not as fun as it used to be.

Like lots of things.  Nursing seemed like a good bet at the time.  Lately, though, new grads are having trouble finding work.  I'm hoping that my gender and transcript grade are going to help me out with that bit, though.

So you're saying that nearly every employer takes advantage of its IT staff and you're recommending switching fields?  This has been the case in my experience...

Seriously though....you might be right about finding another line of work eventually.  I do a good job at work but don't study tech outside of work like I should.  I'm not sure what to do next.  IT is all I know.

Are you sure you aren't me?  LOL

Seriously though, stop being lazy and look.  See what else is out there; the one thing I regret doing was staying with the situation I was in for as long as I did; it really fucked me over now because I looked at it from "At least I'm working, it can't be all bad"

Did you finally get out of that situation and find a new gig?

I finally got out, but not the way I wanted to (they just stopped paying me one day).  Situation has not improved since then; looking at maybe working at Game Stop or some shit just to get some kind of income since any IT job I apply for either doesn't contact me at all or it falls through last minute (had it happen yet AGAIN).

Laziness sucks.  I don't know how many opportunities I've missed due to my laziness, but I think it's a shitload.
